case study
Specialist passive fire protection solutions played a critical role in safeguarding the structure and services, in this high-specification vehicle testing facility. Our scope included the application of intumescent coatings to exposed structural steelwork and a comprehensive fire-stopping package at service penetrations and compartment junctions.
By applying intumescent coatings we ensured that key structural elements would maintain integrity under fire conditions, delaying heat transfer and structural collapse. The targeted fire stopping strategy reinforced compartmentation and prevented the migration of fire and smoke through critical penetrations – preserving safe evacuation and protecting the facility’s asset and occupant uptime.
Our fire protection works were tightly integrated into the design & build programme, coordinated with the specialist design team and main contractor, aligning with the accelerated schedule and highly technical installation requirements. This careful sequencing and specification-led approach added value by reducing risk, supporting compliance, and contributing to the facility’s safe and timely delivery.
