case study
Under the DfE’s long-term new-build schools framework, Bowmer & Kirkland has been appointed to deliver approximately 150 school projects over a ten-year programme across England. The initiative supports the DfE’s strategic objective to modernise educational infrastructure, providing safe, sustainable, high-quality learning environments while maintaining cost-efficiency and programme continuity.
Fire Integrity contributes to this framework by bringing specialist expertise in passive fire protection and regulatory compliance into the new-build phase. From the early design stage through to on-site validation, our team ensures each school meets current fire-safety requirements and adopts robust fire-integrity principles. By aligning fire-safety strategy with Bowmer & Kirkland’s construction delivery, Fire Integrity helps mitigate latent fire-risks early, reduce re-work, and ensure a smooth hand-over of compliant, certifiable buildings.
Our role strengthens the framework’s delivery by ensuring consistency in fire-safety standards across multiple sites, supporting the DfE’s commitment to safe, resilient school buildings. Working collaboratively, Fire Integrity adds value by promoting best practice in fire-resisting construction, enabling greater assurance for stakeholders, and contributing to the long-term safety and performance of the educational estate.
The target is to transform over 500 schools over 10 years.
