case study

Wates Construction is delivering refurbishment and modernisation works across multiple fire stations in the UK under the Fire and Rescue National Framework. These projects focus on upgrading operational facilities, enhancing structural resilience, and ensuring compliance with current building regulations and safety standards. The £8.5 million refurbishment programme for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, covering 19 fire stations. The works included upgrading operational areas, improving structural elements, and integrating modern facilities to support emergency services effectively.

Fire Integrity provides specialist passive fire protection services that are critical to the safety and resilience of fire station buildings. This includes fire compartmentation to contain fire and smoke within designated areas, fire-stopping to seal penetrations and joints, and fire-resisting coatings and treatments to enhance structural fire performance.

By integrating these services early in the design and delivery stages, Fire Integrity ensures that all works comply with regulatory fire-safety standards and maintain the structural fire integrity of each facility. This approach reduces risk, enhances safety for personnel and visitors, and supports the operational readiness of the fire stations.
