case study

Wates Construction has been appointed under the Lloyds Banking Group framework to deliver refurbishment and remediation works across approximately 20 financial institution buildings over a two-year period.

A notable example of the work is the Portland Street, Manchester office refurbishment, which delivered a four-floor fit out accommodating around 2,000 employees. The state-of-the-art workspace includes an accessible fitness suite, music room, café, walking workstations, focus desk areas, contemplation room, and VC meeting pods. The design promotes collaboration, creativity, and neurodiversity while ensuring full accessibility for all staff. Sustainable practices included reusing existing air-conditioning systems, furniture, and floor finishes, installing LED lighting, and working with local social enterprises on signage and waste management.

Fire Integrity provides specialist passive fire protection services across the framework, ensuring that all refurbished bank buildings meet current regulatory fire-safety standards. Our services include fire compartmentation, fire-stopping, and fire-resisting coatings, safeguarding staff, customers, and critical assets while maintaining structural fire integrity.

By engaging early in the design and delivery stages, Fire Integrity helps mitigate fire risks, ensures compliance, and enhances the overall safety and resilience of each financial institution building within the Lloyds Bank framework.

Remediation works across 20 financial institution buildings over 2 years.
